Learn more about HRCI and recertification:
What is the HR Certification Institute (HRCI)?
The HR Certification Institute develops and delivers high quality certification programs to validate mastery in the field of human resource management. They offer three certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR®), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®), plus California-based certification that augments the PHR and SPHR certifications. HRCI is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
What is recertification?
After you earn your PHR certification, you must recertify every three years to avoid expiration. You need a minimum of 60 credit hours in HR-related continuing education activities to apply for recertification. All Satell Center courses are approved for 3.0 general recertification credit hours.
Are Satell Center courses approved by HRCI?
Yes, Satell Center is an "approved provider." Satell Center has submitted extensive information to assure that our courses align with HRCI's Body of Knowledge for recertification credits. All of our courses have been approved by HRCI.
Why is it important that Satell Center is an approved provider?
You're a busy professional and you want to make the most efficient use of the time you dedicate to education. By taking courses with Satell Center, you know in advance that all of our courses are approved by HRCI and specifically how many recertification hours you will get.
How many recertification credit hours is each Satell Center course worth?
Each of our courses is worth 3.0 general recertification credit hours. If you take one of our 4-course Best Practices Certificates you'll get 12.0 hours or take one of our 8-course Advanced Best Practices Certificate for 24.0 hours.
How do I receive my recertification credits?
You must successfully complete each Satell Center course by satisfying the requirements outlined in the syllabus – nothing additional.
How do I obtain a HRCI certificate of completion?
At the completion of your program, we will verify that you have successfully completed each course and will issue a specific HRCI certificate of completion for each course. For example, if you take a 4-course Best Practices Certificate you'll receive four separate certificates of completion. When you apply for recertification, you'll supply these as part of your application. You'll also receive a separate Satell Center Certificate of Completion for the full program.
For more information about certification or recertification, please visit the HRCI website at www.hrci.org.
The use of this seal is not an endorsement by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HR Certification Institute's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.
